LO1 P1 Analysis of Interactive Media Products
London Art Gallery Virtual Tour

The London art gallery is an educational and promotional product, it is made in order to educate and culture audiences on famous art and some of England's heritage. In terms of demographics this product even though it is free it is generally aimed towards C1+ and an older audience. This is because older audiences will have more appreciation for art and culture .
Its purpose is to persuade audiences to visit the gallery through the use of a virtual tour, this will most likely show a person what there is inside of the gallery but also limit their experience in order to keep hold of audience interest, this is because if they can access everything remotely then it will more than likely demotivate them paying to visit the gallery. Moreover, they are also trying to promote people to learn about art and spike people's interests.
Their target audience of this product is people ages 18+ of all social classes. This product mostly targets it's audience based on their interests and lifestyles, for example people who are tourists visiting London may want to attend as they want to visit all of the popular landmarks and learn about them before hand, however a university student may have the interest of learning about the gallery for study purposes as they can remotely learn and take screenshots of exhibits for research and presentation purposes, this makes it easier for them as they are not required to travel. Moreover, as it is a tourist attraction, it will be advertised internationally, perhaps at times when it is most popular to visit the UK, this could be done in leaflets or perhaps on tourists websites and have links to how you could book a visit to the gallery.
In terms of accessibility, this media product allows mouse and keyboard control functions so that it can be used by people who have Parkinson's disease, this is a it may be difficult to point and select features if your mouse is constantly changing. Moreover, each exhibit includes a clear description of the exhibit and its history, this is done in high contrast colours (white on a dark grey background) with moderate spaces between its lines in order to provide a more comfortable experience for users with poor vision or dyslexia, however to accompany for people with no disabilities so there is no need for toggle able features which run the possibility of bugs and may not function. Moreover, to assist people with dyslexia and provide accessibility, they have added a narration feature to read out the paragraph to the audiences, this is better than a screen reader function as the projected paragraph is an image source and not a text one so the software would read the ID of the image instead of the contents, there would have to be something in the html code as a tag for the image which is the paragraph to allow the use of screen reading software. Finally they added a side menu in order to accompany the experience as their is always the risk that updates to browsers could mean that features aren't working a they should still be able to use the website.
In terms of bandwidth and loading speeds, this site has an embedded feature from Google Maps which alone has a page size of roughly 75KB so with that inside of a website will mean that the full website or at least the VR feature may take longer to load than the webpage, however It isn't large enough to use significant delays as long as there is a reliable wifi connection. This means it is suitable for mass consumption as it is easy to load up and access as well as use, this means that users will have a comfortable experience.
Even though there are many features which make this highly accessible and easy to navigate, I do believe that there should be more visual features for users in order to make it more useable for people, for example, even though there is a narrative to each text for people who are deaf and can also assist people with dyslexia, I believe there could be more features for people who may struggle to read or see it, for example a colour blind mode for people who suffer with colour blindness so they can get the full experience, moreover it may also help with reading as even though there's high contrast, their vision may not see as much of a contrast. Moreover they could also add a function for dyslexic people to change the font style to a more readable one or perhaps have an underline feature so they can read it easily.
In terms of legal and ethical, this product uses all original content licensed by them, as this is a virtual tour of their building, all paintings and content will be their own, this means that it will let them avoid any legal obligation from companies and artists. Moreover, they include a footer with all of their legal and credential information as this is a legal requirement as they aren't allowed to disclose their contact and legal information then they will have to pay a fine. As they don't have a login system, they can't go against the data protection act as they have no data that needs to be stored based on individual users. Moreover, they have respected the Equality Act in allowing all users including Ethnic minorities to use the product and invited them to do so.
Pokemon Legends Arceus for Nintendo Switch

Pokemon Legends Arceus is an open-world, story-based RPG released exclusively to the Nintendo Switch family of consoles. it was made by the request of the public to bring back the Sinnoh Region to modern day Pokemon games, this was as those games were very popular when they were released and as Gamefreak are known to remaster games, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire as an example, and it was a great opportunity to develop new game mechanics into a game with a high opportunity for success.
Its purpose is to entertain young audiences by bringing them a new and more immersive experience, this is done through improved graphics and textured from its previous release Pokemon Sword and Shield, and also implements new game mechanics such as being able to freely catch pokemon you see without the need to go into tall grass, it also has a full open world experience, so there is roaming entities and also a full open world, which means no world borders to each part of the map which encourages people to explore.
The target audience is mostly for younger audiences as well as older audiences who grew up playing Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, this is as even though the actual gameplay is suitable and tailored to the needs and abilities of younger audiences, it is also a form of nostalgia as Generation 4 was extremely popular and wanted for reboot from the older fans of the franchise, so as a result Gamefreak released a remastered version of Diamond and Pearl called Brilliant Diamond and Sparkling Pearl. Moreover, to make this appealing to both groups they made the graphics and gameplay simple to use and understand while also providing a beautiful design for older audiences. Moreover, like most games do, this game has a tutorial period which is a great experience for new players alongside hints which are in many forms throughout the games map in order to help users through sections. This product however will appeal to C1 and above as in order to play the game you will need a Nintendo Switch in order to play this, moreover it is quite expensive so may me difficult to obtain for people on low income.
In terms of accessibility, this product is only available on Nintendo Switches which means that you cant access it from any other devices. However it does have a clear menu which is easy to navigate, this is because it used the D-pad to navigate and each option is clearly labelled and highlighted, this makes it really useful for people with dyslexia. Although, as to be expected, this product isn't suitable for blind people as it would be near impossible for them to be able to play regardless of what features you add, moreover it would potentially inhibit other user experiences, whether that being unnecessary features or potentially a bigger game file which will take longer to install. They could also install a colour blind feature as a lot of the colours in the scenery are similar and it may make it difficult for people with colour blindness, this feature may not even be too large in storage as all it is doing is changing the colour scheme of the pallet.
This game is one of the largest to have been released onto Nintendo Switch, at 13GB in size it is only 0.4GB behind the largest, that being Breath of the Wild. As a result, this game will have slow downloading speeds and with the average Wi Fi speeds will take 2-3 hours at least to install, this is unlike other games such as Minecraft which is very small in its size and will install within minutes. Moreover, as its previous game required a device with at least 8gb of RAM, it will require a lot of Ram input in order to get the smoothest runtime.
For legal and ethical issues, it must include people of all race and sexualities in order to appeal and not discriminate against any particular group, this can quite easily be done through the use if NPC's as people can engage with them easily. Moreover, as this also will have a GTS system (Global Trade System), they will need to ensure there are no cyber attacks or cyber bullying online, this can be done through security software and also a way for players to report bad behaviour. Also they will need to ensure all user data is protected from third parties who may use it for profits, as if not this would lead to people suing the company. Furthermore, they must make sure that all models, characters or sound is owned or licensed to use by Gamefreak or else this is copyright infringement and is illegal, resulting in a lawsuit being declared and them being taken to court. Finally as a children's game, they have added censoring to inappropriate language or imagery, this includes blood, gore, sex and swearing, this is shown through the nickname section as they aren't allowed to use any inappropriate language on the names.

Twitch is an online streaming service for the gaming community, its purpose is to allow people to stream their content for free and also allow anyone to watch streams. It is known widely amongst the younger generation as many social media icons such as Pokimane stream there. It has over taken YouTube for streamers as it has a lot more tools and opportunities to grow available to them.
The purpose of Twitch is to entertain audiences but also allow people to collaborate and make content on a global scale. It also is a tool which allows people to become prosumers, as they can watch streams but also make their own and earn money. It is also great for events such as charity streams as people such as Jacksepticeye and Markiplier have raised millions for charity organisations through people's donations on their streams. It is also fun for people as they can connect with their audience and engage with them through the chat function on streams where people can donate, share stickers and post comments and questions.
The target audience for this streaming service is mostly teenagers as they are the largest quantity of the gaming community and so will make up the majority of views and users on streams, but also it targets itself to streamers and content creators as this app is for prosumers as well as consumers. To make it reach its target audience it has a very simplistic style, with a high contrasting colourscheme, it also has a dark background which makes it appropriate to people as it is less damaging to your eyes. Moreover, for content creation it is easier for people to gain finance, this is as people can subscibe and donate to streamers, this makes it easier for users to make a profit on the service, this is important as more and more people are becoming digital content creators so it is important for streaming services to make changes to fit this growing sector.
In terms of accessibility, the streaming service is available on mobile devices, smart television, pc and console, this makes it widely available to people of all incomes and disabilities. Moreover it has an easy to navigate homepage which is compatible to use with many different input devices. However it is not appropriate for people who are blind as it is mostly comprised of images and videos so screen readers will not be able to read or interoperate it so they won't be able to understand what is happening. this feature would be impossible to implement due to the complexity of data streamed through live videos. Moreover, a text to speech feature would also be efficient for people who can't move their hands, especially for searching people or topics. Also they have a recommendation system for users based on the topics they watch most and streamers.
In terms of legal and ethical, there are many issues revolving around data security. This is because users are going to be inputting personal information such as emails, passwords and possibly bank details. Moreover people must be protected from discrimination and cyber abuse, this is for both streamers and viewers as since people have freedom to express their views, they may be tempted to share their own views against an ethnic or social minority, so there must be filters and other measures put into place to deny access to users doing so and also ensure all negative views are censored. Moreover, you will also need to filter content to meet the laws and regulations of certain countries or areas, as certain games such as Call of Duty portray middle eastern countries in a negative matter based on their stereotypes, so streams including it should be prohibited from reaching those areas.
